SIFT -- interactive annotation and interpretation of active reading
*Each class will be creating their own SIFTs for the reading by utilizing Padlet. Each student will be assigned to one of the SIFTing categories and upload their responses to Padlet. Each group will then share and present their findings to the class. You can also look at home, too!*
Symbolism- the practice of representing things by means of symbols or of attributing symbolic meanings or significance to objects, events, or relationships.
Importance- what drawings/words are significant on the page and why?
Feelings- what is the feeling being portrayed in the drawings (not your feelings, but what the feelings portrayed by the author)
Term- unknown term (s): write the word, the sentence and the definition
